A New Year and an Old Dream.

#My2017Adventure

I’m going to start with a story from what seems like a lifetime ago. I was a bit older than the picture above, I was in 6th grade. It was a normal Sunday morning and I was in Sunday School. I can’t remember what the topic was but we were asked to make a list of our dreams. So I wrote that I wanted to be a missionary to Africa. I told the teacher I was done and she asked me to read my list. I read to her my one dream. She smiled and told me to write down ALL of my dreams. I thought about it for what seemed like forever and the only thing I could come up with was to be a musician. It was the only other thing I could imagine myself doing.
I knew that God wanted me to be a missionary, so that’s what I wanted to be! But that day in Sunday School a “dream was born”. What started as a child’s dream to become a musician is what led me to learn and then teach guitar to the middle and high school students at my church in Orlando and to help lead worship in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. It’s also the dream I surrendered knowing that God had a life of missions for me, but God didn’t discard that childhood dream he held onto it.

How this Old Dream affects this New Year

This year that childhood Dream can become a reality! I am excited to announce that I have applied to Hillsong International Leadership College in Australia for the July 2017 semester. It is something I’ve wanted to do for a few years now but, the timing wasn’t right. I’m also excited to tell you I will be studying songwriting!

But I can’t do this alone. As most of you know my parents raise their own support and in that have shown my siblings and I that when God says “GO”, He will provide. For over 8 years now I have watched God multiply the smallest gifts so that what seemed impossible became reality.
The best part is that you can be a part of making this dream become a reality! I can’t do this without you. My question for you is this: Would you be willing to give prayerfully or financially to help make this dream a reality?

For the last year I have been living in Cartersville, Georgia with my Aunt and Uncle. I found a church that feels like home. I have made some really great friends and I have a job at one of the boutiques in our downtown area. I have been working really hard saving for college but I am looking to raise around $1,200 in monthly support to help cover the cost of travel, tuition and living expenses.

How You can be Apart

  • Prayer!

  • Giving. Would you give so I can develop the tools neccesary to Help effectively Bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth.
